Penn State has entered a new phase in the significant renovation of Beaver Stadium. Here are the latest updates directly from the Penn State Athletic Department:
Beaver Stadium in 2025
After the conclusion of the 2024 football season, the press box and the upper bowl on the west side were demolished to make way for the construction of the PAM Health Misitano Family Tower, Schuyler Family Club, Marzano Club, and suite levels. Additionally, 7,900 temporary bleacher seats will be set up on top of the suite level, along with temporary concession and restroom facilities for the upcoming season.
Seating and Parking Impacts in 2025
Beaver Stadium is expected to maintain a capacity of over 100,000 during the renovation process. Football game day parking and tailgating are not anticipated to be restricted during construction, although there may be minor disruptions around the construction site. The construction area will be expanded in the off-season but will be reduced to ensure adequate parking during the football season.
Beaver Stadium’s Revitalized West Side
The renovation project will take place over the next three football off-seasons, enhancing various aspects of the game day experience. Upgrades will include improved restrooms and concessions, expanded Wi-Fi capabilities with 135 new wireless access points, and an increase in concourses, including a Field Level Concourse, Main Concourse, and Upper Concourse, which will more than double the previous concourse space on the west side. The revitalization will also improve vertical fan circulation with the addition of escalators, elevators, and pedestrian ramps. Furthermore, stadium lighting will be upgraded to enhance the game day atmosphere, alongside improvements to the north videoboard and new ribbon boards in the intermediate and upper bowls on the west side. Consistent with Penn State’s commitment to global sustainability, the renovation will be designed for high energy efficiency, with plans to achieve LEED certification.
The completed revitalization will introduce a new array of seating options, with approximately 75% of the seats on the revamped west side being non-premium and situated in the lower and upper levels. This area will also feature various premium seating options and amenities that align with modern stadium standards, including suites, the 20,000-square-foot Schuyler Family Club, the 35,000-square-foot Marzano Club, and loge boxes. Both the Schuyler Family Club and Marzano Club will provide opportunities for private events year-round.
