After former LSU commit Jaboree Antoine, ranked No. 54 in the ESPN 300, committed to the Hurricanes on Saturday, Mario Cristobal secured Miami’s second-highest rated commitment of the 2025 cycle.
The four-star cornerback from New Iberia, Louisiana, made his first commitment to LSU on January 27. After visiting Miami and Florida State, he withdrew his pledge from the Tigers and reopened it on June 23.
After less than a month, Antoine is officially a member of the Hurricanes, second only to five-star offensive guard S.J. Alofaituli, who committed to Miami earlier this month, as the program’s top defender and 2025 prospect.
With Antoine’s commitment, Cristobal has added 15 players to the 2025 class since June 1st, six of whom were selected from the ESPN 300. Antoine, the No. 2 talent in Louisiana this cycle, is one of three top-100 players headed to Miami in a 2025 class that is ranked 10th in ESPN’s most recent team rankings, along with Alofaituli and four-star safety Hylton Stubbs.
Antoine missed all but five games of his junior season at Westgate High School last autumn due to a collarbone injury. Antoine then chose LSU over Texas and Tennessee as a finalist in January, and he joined the Tigers as a key member of Brian Kelly’s 2025 class.
Prior to deciding between the Tigers and Hurricanes earlier this week, Antoine’s pledge was valid until the end of June. LSU, Miami, and Florida State were also considered. Antoine, who has committed to the Hurricanes, leads a defensive class that also includes Stubbs, defensive end Herbert Scroggins (No. 27 DE), cornerback Chris Ewald (No. 29 CB), and inside linebackers Elijah Melendez (No. 4 ILB) and Gavin Nix (No. 5 ILB).
With Antoine’s pledge, Cristobal’s total of 10 ESPN 300 pledges in one of the classes with the fastest increasing rates in college football in 2025 is increased. With the seventh-ranked cornerback in the country joining the team, Miami is well-positioned to advance and make a run at a third consecutive top-10 class.

Miami is back in the top ten in the team recruiting rankings after securing the commitment of 4-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine.
The Miami Hurricanes football program is expected to regularly sign top 10 recruiting classes under Mario Cristobal’s direction.
With the commitment of 4-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine on Saturday, UM shot up to No. 8 overall in the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings, moving up from No. 11 overall.
According to 247Sports, Antoine (6-1, 170) is ranked No. 137 among all players in the nation. Based on the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he is ranked No. 71 overall, making him the second-highest commit in UM’s class.
Antoine’s arrival allowed the Hurricanes to overtake Clemson and take the top spot in the ACC rankings. Right now, the Tigers rank No. 11 in the nation overall. Florida State, an in-state opponent, is in the top 18 overall class. The lone other ACC program in the Top 25 is SMU, which ranks No. 23 overall.
There are now eighteen commitments in Miami’s class, thirteen of whom are four-star athletes.
Security According to the composite, Hylton Stubbs is UM’s top commit and ranks No. 52 nationally. SJ Alofaituli, an offensive lineman, is ranked No. 75 among all players in the nation.
Right now, the Hurricanes have three pledges ranked in the top 100. The key to this Mario Cristobal regime’s success is securing those kinds of prospects.
Miami has four players listed in the Top 100 for their 2023 recruiting class, which is ranked seventh overall in the nation. After a year, the Hurricanes signed seven players who were ranked in the top 100, with the fourth-best class in the country.
Once again, UM is expected to sign four to seven players ranked in the top 100 for the 2025 cycle.
The goal of the 2023 cycle was to add elite offensive line prospects, and Miami did just that with the addition of 5-star talents Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola. UM decided to concentrate on the defensive line in the 2024 cycle, and the Hurricanes added Justin Scott, Armondo Blount, and Marquise Lightfoot, three composite 5-star prospects in that position group.
Miami is trying to sign a strong class of defensive backs in this 2025 cycle. Along with promises from 4-star safety Amari Wallace, 3-star cornerback Timothy Merritt, and 4-star cornerback Chris Ewald, the Hurricanes can boast commitments from two of the Top 100 defensive backs in Stubbs and Antoine.
For the third straight cycle, Miami is poised to assemble a recruiting class ranked in the top ten, a feat the team has not accomplished since the start of 247Sports in the 2011 cycle. In addition, UM is attempting to sign the best class in the ACC for the third year in a row, following Clemson’s successful signing of the conference’s top class from 2018 to 22. UM’s recruiting drive is still gaining traction.
